Life has always been a smooth flowing brook with small dashes here and there. It has certainly reached a critical juncture when I have to desire where to turn and what to do next.
Like every other person, I too got a variety of choices from which, I have got to select the best one. Making the choice was not simple enough because this was the choice, which was going to shape my life and decide my future. There were a variety of factors like ‘Mental Satisfaction’, ‘Probability of success’ and ‘Environment I had to adopt into’, that were going to affect my choice.
I realized that studying in an American University would be just the right choice for me. Through the experience of the students who have already made it to the U.S. from India and from books, I have come to know that the standard of education and the ambience of studying in USA are quite superior when compared to India. Therefore, with the advanced research facilities available, U.S.A. is my obvious choice.
My fascination towards ‘Solid Mechanics’ developed as early as in the 10th grade when I received a book on ‘Preliminary mechanics’ by ‘R.S.Khurmi’ as a gift for a scholarship sponsored by N.S.S. I was then really fascinated by the complexities of different structures. The interest and fascination has evolved into a determination to study the subject deeply and to do some valuable research in the field.
As a beginner, I had always loved to consider the design of a structure or machine components, where, it is essential to ensure the response of the elements in such a way that they can perform their function with a high degree of confidence and reliability. So I had always admired at the enormous basks and the scientific challenges faced by an engineer specialized in the field of ‘Solid Mechanics’. Moreover, the economic factors are also to be considered for optimum results by the engineer. Thus I got fascinated toward the tasks of an engineer specialized in ‘Solid mechanics’ and I longed to be one.
It is necessary ford the designer to be able to calculate stresses, deflections and buckling loads, and to be able to relate to them to the appropriate limiting safe values in practice. I have realized that, as a designer, one has to depend upon many factors like ‘nature of the old’, ‘shape of the component’ and the mechanical properties of the materials selected’ to design a component and it is this aspect that makes the study and research on ‘solid mechanics’ interesting enough. Often dreams and goals are set according to one’s budding interests. My interest in the field helped realize what I would best fit in and how I should shape my future.
I have also realized that possessing ‘Basic Technical Knowledge’ does not alone make a good research man. My active involvement in organizations like Retract (a youth wing of Rotary International) and AAES (Association Of Automobile Engineering Students), has really helped me a lot in developing my leadership qualities, organizational skills, communication skills and improved my adaptability to work in a group with utmost sincerity and dedication. Therefore, I believe I have all the attributes of a good research man.
The field of ‘Solid Mechanics’ has developed rapidly in recent years with application in the field of ‘axial, bending and torsion stresses’. I have always dreamt about being engineers specialized in ‘Applied mechanics’ and I have discovered that there are many opportunities for advances, in the field of ‘Stresses’ in ‘Solid Mechanics’. Therefore, I would like to make it to your university to do an advanced research in this field.
From the information I received from your website and from the people who have already made to the U.S., have realized that your university is the best to do my advanced study and research. So I have decided to apply to the university so that I can fulfill my dreams and have a good and challenging career.

As I have been brought up in a family which has strong inclinations towards science, I have developed a fascination for science from my childhood. This inclination towards science was further increased by my active participation in science fair and seminars in my school days. I had a special interest towards science and appreciated its innovative ideas. My good academic scores at school level and my penchant for science rightly guided me to take up the science stream at the pre university level from which I drew inspiration to imbibe the true spirit of engineering. I stood among the top 5% scorers in EAMCET-97, a state wide common entrance test for aspirants seeking admission in engineering courses. Given the choice I took up ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING as my undergraduate major as it had tremendous potential to becomes a dominate force in this Millennium affecting all walks of human life. Also Electronics Revolution ushered in an area that heralded the beginning of an all round progress.
The four year undergraduate study has taught me that Engineering is as much as an art as it is a science. Creative instinct, excel fellowman ship and perceptiveness are the very gist of engineering. Engineering study not only imparts knowledge but also lays emphasis on the overall development of the individual. Besides broadening the range of my knowledge, it has given me valuable insight into practical aspects of study. I have acquainted myself with various subjects in my fled like PULSE AND DIGITAL CIRCUITS, ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DESIGNING, POWER SYSTEMS, POWER LELCTRONICS etc. I have also obtained good software knowledge which includes operating systems like UNIX, WINDOWS, and programming languages like C, C++, and packages like ORACLE which are necessary for my course work. During my undergraduate study I have participated in seminars conducted by my department and also by various educational organizations. These seminars provided me a platform to interact with intellectuals and eminent persons of my field who not only provided me with a valuable insight into the technical progress made by the electronic industry but also motivated me to pursue a career in electronics. This coupled with my thirst for knowledge and desire to remain associated with my field has motivated me in opting Master in this field. I am confident that the knowledge I gained at my undergraduate level serves as a base for my career advancement in this field. I want to be part this Electronics revolution and contribute my share in its advancement.
My fields of interest range over a wide spectrum of areas; however I am especially fascinated by VLSI designing, POWER ELECTRONICS, ELECTROMAGNETICS & CONTROL SYSTEMS. I am confident that my undergraduate study has provided me with sufficient knowledge of fundamentals in order to take up any one of these as my specializations in my graduate study.
I have always though of pursuing a research oriented career after my graduation. I am of the opinion that a career in research requires high level intelligence, strong determination and a lot of hard work. As this millennium comes to end, I can see the tremendous progress in my country. This is due to noticeable change towards high technology which my country has adopted and developed. As a result there is continues and sophisticated industrialization.
I want to mention that as industrialization increases, its utilities also demanding in more quanta. Development of any industry is based on stability and reliability of its utilities.
During my two years of job in one of the leading industry of my country, I got much clear idea about our industries and conditions. Here we are facing lot of problems due to unstable power. Continuous production plants are suffering lot due to a single power failure even for a moment. In short, we are not having power generation to feed required demand. It we compare our power system with power system of USA, then power system of USA is much more stable & pure, means without variation of voltages and frequency.
This forms the basis of my desire to pursue my M.S. Electrical Engineering course in your country. I believe that by studying in a high-tech country like yours I will be able to further enhance my knowledge with opportunity of getting exposure to the latest developments taking place. This will show me a way of striking a balance between power demand and power generation which is extremely important for the progress of my country.

INTRODUCTION
My interest in Electrical and Electrical dates back the early days of my high school. My career objective is to pursuer research in the field of Electrical Engineering. I am of firm conviction that’s suitable opportunity to pursue graduate studies will help in my endeavor towards realizing my goal, paving the path for self-actualization.
PLANS FOR GRADUATE STUDIES
My interest primarily includes power system protection and switchgears, High voltage engineering and Programmable logic controllers. In particular the topic protective relaying has evinced teen interest and thoroughly fascinated me. I believe graduate studies would provide me with a better understanding of these topics enabling me to contribute immensely to this arena.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
My school life has a tremendous impact on my personality, right from my kinder grain and my teacher liked me for my good performance and politeness. My innate strength has always been mathematics and physics and I opted for the same in my 10+2 level. My nascent attraction to the field of Electrical & Electronics can be traced that to thee days. During these days I have participated in various group discussions and seminars in the same field. I was placed in the top 1% of approximately 70,000 students who took TCET, a state level entrance exam for Engineering, for which I got admission into ___ Engineering College, one of the most respected and premiere colleges in the state.
The first two years of my engineering studies involved basic of Electrical & Electronics Engineering like Electrical Technology, Transmission and distribution, Electronic devices. I also obtained a firm foundation in engineering mathematics through rigorous courses in differential equations, lap lace transforms, Fourier transforms, 3D geometry complex variables and numerical analysis.
In my seventh semester, I had done a project title “___________” with ________Corporation which is very prestigious and respected organization in the country. The project was aided by the Government of Netherlands. In the project we designed a water level indicator which is portable, economical and accurate in measuring the depths of water.
ACTIVITIES BEYOND CURRICULUM
My interest beyond the curriculum included a variety o fields from sports to theatre to adventure and social activities. Once of my favorite fields was theatre where in I regularly participated in all dreams and educational programs for youngsters and illiterates.
I was equally involved in organizing seminars and providing the junior students with valuable assistance in their laboratory activities.
I am an avid lover of nature and also have penchant for adventures. This also lead ad many adventure camps wherein I had the opportunity to mix with students of different regions and had a chance of exchanging our ideas bringing about a blend of new ideas and helping us develop new dimensions of though.
